Lets talk chickens! i built this chicken coop last summer and have been loving my chickens but i don’t like having to come out first thing every morning and every evening to coop and uncoop them. if you don’t know, chickens will go inside their chicken coop every evening on their own around dusk. but i still have to be here or come out here to shut the door and keep them safe.. Simple automatic chicken coop door: edit: it's been 4 years now since i built this chicken coop door and it's still going strong! i have had to replace the battery a couple of times but this build has really worked well.in this instructable i'll be showing how to make an easy automat…. Having decided to design and build an automatic chicken coop door, i went to the world wide web and used google i tried to find a commercial product or someone’s home made design for an automatic door. i found a commercial product (attached to a chicken coop), but it was too expensive..
Outdoor chicken run: this is slightly more difficult to build than the simple coop, but it will allow your chickens more space, as well as the option of being outside. allow 2 to 3 square feet per chicken for the coop, and at least 4 square feet per chicken for the outside run.. Make up a pretty basic shed inspired chicken coop with a door for humans on one side and a humble sloping roof on the other side. ana white has got a detailed plan with illustrations and exact dimensions.. Then add two additional pieces of wood to either side of the pallet walls. then use wood to build a door frame in the middle. fill in the gaps in the door frame with chicken wire. then you can actually build a coop door if you have any excess wood. we framed a door with excess wood we had left and then used chicken wire to fill in the middle..
